Kissimmee Outpatient Center Installs New State of the Art 1.5T Magnetic Resonance (MR) Service
CORAL SPRINGS, FLORIDA-February 12, 2005-Navix Imaging, Inc. (News) today announced that its imaging center in Kissimmee, Florida; Kissimmee Outpatient Center; completed the installation of a new Philips 1.5T short bore magnet. The new magnet is the most advanced service available today from one of the finest manufacturer's in the world. The magnet is five times stronger than the magnet which it replaces, heralding a significant improvement in signal to noise ratio and hence improved quality of studies. The new magnet offers unique capability in Osceola County not available elsewhere. In addition to the greater detail of images from the strength, Kissimmee Outpatient Center also has software packages for specialists in Neurology, Cardiology, Orthopedics, Gastroenterology, Vascular Surgery and breast imaging. For the first time, the breast MR imaging now at Kissimmee Outpatient Center gives patients and physicians a tool to help differentiate difficult studies from mammography and breast ultrasound. Mammography is only 80% accurate at best and now, with the advent of this important tool, physicians can now get additional information to better diagnose and care for their patients. The magnet also offers vascular imaging both for peripheral studies as well as MR angiography. Fenton Froom, MD, Medical Director of Kissimmee Outpatient Center stated: " We can now see details and structures in the body which were not available just a couple of years ago. As a radiologist, I can now offer these additional MR studies when our physicians need to make that critical diagnosis."
